The 1937 Ford Coupe
The Jelly Cupboard
Well, since this blog is actually called the Jam and Jelly
Jar Box. I thought I would share my Jelly and Jam cupboard.
Yes, I do make allot of jelly, jam and sauces. I have canning books that range form 1920 to the present. Some of my work has even been known to win a few ribbons at the local fair. While my stock is getting a bit low for the winter, I am sure come spring I will get the canning bug and start all over again.

Sunday Serenity
My sister`s back yard, taken in Ky., over the weekend.
Since I live kinda close to Oak ridge/Knoxville
I did not see all that much snow, sure wish I could have. But, for the ones that did the pictures sure
look beautiful!
We have had spring all winter here. LOL.

Outdoor Country Living
Our Outdoor Fireplace.

About 1 pound of blueberry's (more or less according to ones preference).

Instant potatoes (make according to box or pack)
Cheddar cheese, shredded .
In a casserole dish place the cans of beef stew (if wanted
you could place a teaspoon of butter on top of stew) then
add cooked mashed potatoes on top of stew, and sprinkle
desired amount of cheddar cheese on top.
Bake in a 350 degree oven until good and hot. Enjoy with
cornbread or biscuits.

Old Fashioned Northern Beans
Great Northern Beans
To get started, empty bag of beans into a colander and wash
completely, discarding any particles. Then place in a bowl and
cover with fresh water and soak preferably overnight.
Drain water and place into a pot and cover with about three or four
inches of water. Bring to a rolling boil, then turn heat down to low
and simmer for about two hours or until beans appear to be done.
If ham or seasoning meat is used add this at the beginning
cook time. Country Ham works best with these type of beans.
But any kind of ham will actually do. Salt and Pepper to taste. This might also be a good time to bring out the old cast iron dutch ovens. Or even better the porcelain overlay cast iron dutch ovens.
Afterall, what Country Kitchen would not be equipped withouy a little Lodge cast iron!

Southern Cornbread
My favorite version of Southern Cornbread
1 1/2 cups self rising cornmeal1/2 cup of selfrising flour
1 egg
1 or 1 1/2 cups of milk, or better yet, buttermilk.
I don`t like mine real thick so I use 1 1/2 cups milk.
Mix and pour into a pan, or cast iron skillet
(I prefer a 10 inch cast iron skillet)
Be sure and grease pan or skillet with a little oil or grease.
Bake in a hot oven for about 20 minutes, or untill golden brown,
at about 375 degrees. Added butter on top of cornbread when
right out of oven makes for a softer top texture.

Fruit Basket Heaven
My lovely fruit basket.
My daughter and I are always trying out new things to do. I have seen so many things on Pinterest, and so many good crafts that I don't
really know where to start.
One day soon, maybe, I will be able to put some good ideals on my blog. This blog has changed so much that I have been having some real problems getting on here to post ANYTHING. In time i am sure I will figure out the new blog, though.

I have joined Pinterest and I think that it is a very nice so far.
I am new on there so I am still stumbling along. I hope to get better as time goes by, and I am sure I will. Pinterest is amazing and very interesting. The only thing I noticed so far is that time can really get away from one while surfing pinterest. But, I am so glad I am on board and hope to share some good stuff on here, also.
